- We at the SMG try to monitor this newsgroup on a daily basis and provide
- as much valid information as we can.
-
- We work with Amiga Technologies everyday on product, part, and service
- issues. We have been attempting to get an NTSC version of the A1200
- products, with UL, FCC and CSA certification into North America since
- early last fall. To date, we have been unsuccessful. Unfortunately,
- we cannot give any firm date when the A1200 will be available. When
- we pass this information on to dealers (and we do regularly) we provide
- the best information that we have at that time.
-
- We're always fascinated by the "demand" for the Amiga. We often hear
- about "... a lot of people with a lot of money in their pockets waiting
- to buy one." Unfortunately, "a lot" means a lot of different things to
- different people. And "a lot" really doesn't mean "a lot". It means a
- very few. We've asked the dealers on several occasions to provide a
- forecast for all Amiga products. The dealers tell us (those that reply)
- that their customers - the consumers - have not expressed strong demand.
- If people really wanted to see the A1200 (and other Amiga products) on
- the shelves in North America, they should tell their dealers. To date,
- they simply haven't done that.
-
- When will we see the A1200 in North America? We simply don't know. If
- we're successful in convincing Amiga Technologies to build it, we'll let
- you know.
