  37. We at the SMG try to monitor this newsgroup on a daily basis and provide 
  38. as much valid information as we can.

  40. We work with Amiga Technologies everyday on product, part, and service
  41. issues.  We have been attempting to get an NTSC version of the A1200 
  42. products, with UL, FCC and CSA certification into North America since 
  43. early last fall.  To date, we have been unsuccessful.  Unfortunately,
  44. we cannot give any firm date when the A1200 will be available.  When 
  45. we pass this information on to dealers (and we do regularly) we provide
  46. the best information that we have at that time.

  48. We're always fascinated by the "demand" for the Amiga.  We often hear 
  49. about "... a lot of people with a lot of money in their pockets waiting
  50. to buy one."  Unfortunately, "a lot" means a lot of different things to
  51. different people.  And "a lot" really doesn't mean "a lot".  It means a 
  52. very few.  We've asked the dealers on several occasions to provide a 
  53. forecast for all Amiga products.  The dealers tell us (those that reply)
  54. that their customers - the consumers - have not expressed strong demand.
  55. If people really wanted to see the A1200 (and other Amiga products) on
  56. the shelves in North America, they should tell their dealers.  To date, 
  57. they simply haven't done that.

  59. When will we see the A1200 in North America?  We simply don't know.  If
  60. we're successful in convincing Amiga Technologies to build it, we'll let
  61. you know.
